Question: Lymphedema
Lymphedema is a potential side effect of breast cancer surgery and radiation therapy that can appear in some people during the months or even years after treatment ends.
Make sure that your surgeon or other doctor treating you knows about your lymphedema history. Ask if anything can be done to avoid or minimize any further damage to your lymphatic system. Also, work with your lymphedema therapist in advance of your treatment to see what he or she recommends.
We suggested on consulting your doctor first as they will assess you if the problem is still reversible as lymphedema can progress its damage.
